Choosing Your Daily Pen
Choosing Your Daily Pen
At the beginning of the day, after brushing your teeth, but before putting on your shoes, you choose the pen or pens to take with you on the day's journey. I agonize over this decision nearly every day, and while I can't offer you specific advice on which pen is right for you on a given day, I can share with you my decision making process:
What barrel colors are you in the mood for?
- Can you coordinate colors with a notebook?
- Do you feel like coordinating with jewelry or clothing?
- Can you create a theme among your pens, such as 'warmth' or 'bold'?
- Consider your notebook for the day.
- Gel pens show their amazing colors best on quality notebook paper.
- Oil-based pens can handle a wide variety of papers.
- Margin work requires a very fine point.
- Note-taking benefits from a bolder, wider point.
- Math or puzzles might need a pencil… unless you are showing off
