The Pilot Vortex is a futuristic looking fountain pen, with a great smooth nib. You can choose to load this pen with your favorite ink using the Converter 20 or Converter 50, or you can choose to use the pre-loaded Pilot ink cartridges.

I thought that I would like this pen, as I started out with the Pilot Penmanship EF fountain pen for my first fountain pen. So I thought that this pen would continue the fine line of Pilot pens. I have always used and loved Pilot pens. But this one I have to say was not the best pen. It has yet to write as smoothly, or to write without skipping. Being about my 4th fountain pen, I thought that it was be a nice pen, but it has yet to get there. I think that I just got a bad one, I guess I will try again, and get another one. Perhaps the next one will be a bit better, and live up to my expectations. I also bought the converter for this pen, and I find that it is difficult to see how much ink is left. I find that the pen's proportions don't allow you to see how much ink is left in the converter.
