I got the red, thinking it'd be a bright red, but it's definitely more a light pink-red. I think if you mixed it with some black, it would become the red (or at least a duskier red) that you usually associate with pens. I also bought the yellow, which is a nice bright gold yellow that turns into a marigold yellow if you go over it twice.
